Bayern Munich have been on a roll for almost one year now.
And the man who has been a key ingredient of this success is Thomas Muller. So how is he playing games day in day out without any rest?
“You’d have to say that apart from the two or three games that have been added, the workload is similar to previous seasons,” Müller said ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Lokomotiv Moscow on Tuesday.
“That’s from my point of view. We’ve always had a tough time with the calendar.
“I don’t know if there are actually more games but the fatigue debate is often used when you struggle to explain someone’s performance on the pitch.
“Of course, it is a challenge. For me, I just try to eat well and rest a lot – the normal things anyone does to relax. We have a great support system here too.”
Hansi Flick is not one to rest or really encourage off days for his players and it was evident from Muller’s next comment!
“I’m always in touch with the coach. We’ve improved the squad and the team has already been changed four or five times,” continued Müller.
“My battery isn’t empty so it is just up to the coach to decide what he wants to do.”
