Striker refuses to take blame for flopping at Anfield

Former-Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has refused to take the blame for failing to impress in Merseyside during his time at Anfield.

The Italian spent three years at the club after being signed by Brendan Rodgers, but he failed to impress throughout those years, and even spent one season out on loan with Sunderland.

However, Borini has now ended his Merseyside misery by completing a permanent move to The Black Cats over the summer.

After leaving the club, the striker discussed his failed stint at Anfield, and he refused to take the blame for his failures, stating he worked hard week-in, week-out.

Borini Points Finger

Borini said: “It was very difficult [at Liverpool].

“It didn’t work out. Not because of me, but because of someone else.

“Everyone knows within the club and outside that I have been working hard.

“I gave everything for the club. That is why I stayed at Liverpool, because I thought I could help the team.

“Every time I have been asked to play I did that, and that’s the thing.”
