Agent confirms left-back won’t be leaving Bernabeu
Manchester United won’t be signing Fabio Coentrao this summer after his agent confirmed the left-back won’t be on the move at all.
The Portuguese defender has been strongly linked with a move away from Madrid over the past two seasons, with United a long-term interested party.
However, Coentrao‘s agent has today confirmed that no move will be happening this month because the club don’t want to lose him at all, even on a potential loan-deal.
The 27-year-old is behind Marcelo in the pecking order and has struggled to break into the La Liga side’s first-team, but despite that he will be staying put this summer.
Agent Speaks Out
“At Real Madrid they are not looking to move him on, at least for the time being.
“The option of the player joining Inter doesn’t even enter their thoughts. If things were to change, Coentrao would only leave for Benfica.”
