Fenerbahce have confirmed that they are not interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko. There were reports that suggested Fenerbahce were trying to sign the 29-year old Frenchman on loan. However, the Turkish club has made an official statement on their website denying such reports.

The statement read, “In the public opinion, the news that we are attempting to transfer Moussa Sissoko … does not reflect the truth. Regarding a transfer of Moussa Sissoko to our club, there has been no contact with the player, the manager or the club.”

Sissoko started in Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League opener against Newcastle but was an unused substitute in their next match against Fulham. However, he wasn’t even in the squad that beat Manchester United at Old Trafford yesterday.

Tottenham are currently 2nd in the Premier League table between Liverpool and Chelsea. They play their next game against Watford on Sunday.
