Imminent Chelsea signing Filipe Luis is ecstatic at the prospect of joining the club, after revealing that he’s always admired Jose Mourinho’s team from afar.
Earlier today, a fee in the region of £19 million was submitted by the West London club which triggered the left back’s buy out clause in his contract, leaving just personal terms and the signing of the contract to be completed.
Luis will also have some familiar faces around him at Stamford Bridge next season, having played with Brazilian trio Willian, Ramires and Oscar whilst on international duty, as well as teaming up again with other new signing Diego Costa and the returning Thibaut Courtois after their time together in Madrid.
The reigning La Liga champion, who has been training with the reserves as he seeks a move away, admitted that it wasn’t a hard choice to join the after being a fan of England’s top league.
“I’ve always liked Chelsea, I see a lot of Premier League games.
“I also love the city when we played against them in the Champions League.
“I felt positive sensations and when I got the offer I thought it was the perfect chance to play in England.”
The fullback will be a like for like replacement for Ashley Cole, who joined Roma on a two year deal earlier this month.
