Chelsea defender Filipe Luis has revealed his plans are to stay at Stamford Bridge despite reports linking him with a swift move back to Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian has struggled to settle in West London and has failed to break into the first-team due to Cesar Azpilicueta being the regular left-back, but all reports of a move back to Spain are far off the mark according to the player.
The 29-year-old, who signed a three-year deal at Chelsea in the Summer, has spoken to Spanish media and has confirmed his plans are to remain in England.
He told Marca: “I’m just focused on Chelsea, on working hard and giving my best in order to end the season with another important and beautiful trophy.
“Of course, everything can change in football, but I’m happy and have a three-year contract at Chelsea that I’d like to see out.
“I’ve had some of the best years of my career at Atlético and remember the supporters, my teammates and the coaching staff fondly
“I’m really fond of ‘El Cholo’ (Simeone), he’s a coach that taught me so much”.
