Serie A side want Chelsea defender on temporary basis

Fiorentina are interested in signing Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma on a short-term loan deal in January, according to reports.

The 20-year-old is on the fringes of the first-team at Stamford Bridge, but only seems to make an appearance when Gary Cahill or John Terry aren’t available.

Zouma has been filling in for the skipper since his dismissal against West Bromwich Albion, but Jose Mourinho still sees the veteran as his first-choice defender.

When Zouma has featured for The Blues, he’s looked settled and impressive, with many people, including Mourinho labeling him as the long-term replacement for Terry.

Stones In/Zouma Out?

However, with John Stones heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, his future isn’t certain for now.

With the Stones talk over the summer, Italian outfit Fiorentina weighed up making a formal bid for the French centre-back, but their enquiries were rejected and he stayed put in West London.

Now, according to Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina could make a loan offer to Chelsea in January which would see the youngster go out on loan to Italy for six-months until the end of the campaign.
