ex-Arsenal man Robert Pires has said Arsenal should attempt to beat Manchester United to sign Greizmann.
Manchester United have been linked with Greizmann all season, and it is understood that Jose Mourinho is willing to spend big money in order to bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford.
Arsenal have been in need of a big name top quality striker for a while now, and former player Pires believes they should break the bank in order to beat Jose Mourinho’s side to Greizmann’s signature.
The club has come under pressure from fans before for not spending enough, and seemed to change this when they brought in both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, but since then, they have lacked any real big money marquee signings, and Pires believes now is the perfect time to change that – with Greizmann.
“He’s the perfect signing for Arsenal, but I know he’ll be very expensive.
“I think he’ll break the £100m mark and I know Manchester United are keen to buy him, but for me, if I had the chance I would spend every penny I have on Griezmann, he’s one of the best players in the world not named Ronaldo or Messi.”
Greizmann on the other hand continues to insist he sees himself at Atletico next season.
It’s not like a footballer to say one thing and then do the complete opposite, is it?
