The winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish side

Neymar joined Paris Saint- Germain form Barcelona for a world record fee of €222 million last August, which made him the most expensive player in football history. The Brazilian joined the La Liga giants in 2013 and enjoyed a successful period there but decided to leave as he wanted to operate more independently.

The 26 year old was in excellent form for the Ligue 1 giants, scoring 28 goals and assisting 16 from 30 appearances before suffering a foot injury. He won the Ligue 1 Player’s of the year award despite missing the end of the campaign and returned to full fitness ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

Brazil started their World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland with the forward starting the game. He scored his first Russia 2018 goal late on in a 2-0 defeat of Costa Rica and moved third in Brazil’s list of all time leading goalscorers.

But there were reports that the 26 year old is less than satisfied with life in Paris despite spending less than a year in the French Capital. He has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid since he reportedly met French side’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to express his unhappiness.

Former Brazil superstar Kaka feels that a return to Spain after just 1 year might arouse suspicion while sympathizing him for being under pressure in the World Cup. But he backed his move to the La Liga giants if the player wants that.

“It’s such a personal thing,” Kaka told Gazzetta dello Sport when asked whether he would advise Neymar to join Madrid.

“If he does it now, maybe people will say he went to PSG just to build a bridge to Real.

“But if that’s what he wants, he must do it and must be ready to handle the situation.

“On the other hand there is always so much pressure around him. In Brazil it is crazy. We talk about his performance, his class, but also his hair, the suitcases he carries.

“He’s a great player and also a celebrity, it’s not easy to manage all of this.”
