The Player is a target for both Real Madrid and Liverpool

Alisson Becker joined Roma from Inter Milan in the summer of 2016, signing a 5 year contract. He  spent the majority of that season as understudy to Polish international Wojciech Szczęsny, managing to make only 15 appearances in all competitions.

It has been a meteoric rise for the Brazilian who did not play a single game in Serie A in the 2016-2017 campaign before taking over as the undisputed No.1 last term. He has been very impressive for the club domestically and in Europe, keeping 22 clean sheets in 49 games for the club in all competitions.

The Goalkeeper also helped his team to reach the Semi-finals of the Champions League and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

The Brazil International has been heavily linked with a summer move to European giants Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has prioritized a signing a new goalkeeper to replace Loris Karius, after his poor displays against Real Madrid in the Champions League final. They have prioritized signing the Serie A star but have been put off by his price tag  as he is likely to cost over €70 million .

The La Liga giants are also looking to sign a new goalkeeper as they want a long term replacement for Keylor Navas, who will turn 32 next season. They have been linked with the likes of David de Gea, Thibaut Courtois but now have turned their towards the 25 year old.

But Roma’s sporting director Monchi insist that they are yet to receive an offer for in-demand goalkeeper Alisson and those in the Italian capital have no intention of parting with their prized asset.

He told reporters at the club’s unveiling of new signing Javier Pastore as quoted by Goal: “As of now we’ve had no offers for Alisson.

“All I think about is waiting for the World Cup to finish, but hopefully for Brazil that’s as late as possible, then he can rest, come here, and train with his team-mates.

“I want to make it clear: as of now no offer has arrived. If you asked me about [Patrick] Schick I’d say the same thing, I’ve read so much but no offer has come in.

“That’s the reality, and I have to work with reality.”
