Manchester United boss still wants Tottenham Hotspur striker

Louis van Gaal still wants Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, according to reports.

The Red Devils were reportedly interested in signing the England international over the summer following his breakthrough campaign last year, which saw him net 31 goals in all competitions.

However, Kane was adamant he wanted to remain at Spurs which lead to United signing Anthony Martial from AS Monaco instead.

Despite receiving the snub over the summer, Van Gaal is still an admirer of Kane and has once again urged the club’s board to land to Lilywhite striker in the New Year.

Van Gaal Remains Interested

Kane has had a slow start to the new campaign, scoring just one goal in nine outings, but that hasn’t stopped Van Gaal from remaining interested in signing him.

Van Gaal is keen on building a young side for United so that when he leaves, the team will be ready for the long-term future, and the 22-year-old Spurs striker has been highlighted as one of his top targets.

Kane has been urged by some pundits to leave White Hart Lane in order to reach his full potential, just like Wayne Rooney did when he chose to leave Everton.
