Gianluigi Buffon feels Paris Saint Germain will have a task cut out without their star forward Neymar.
The Brazilian is expected to be on the sidelines due to a foot injury occurred against Strasbourg. Neymar has already been ruled out for a prolonged period and won’t be able to participate in both legs of the last 16 tie against Manchester United.
Despite spending millions in the last few years the success hasn’t really reflected on the big stages. With the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Julian Draxler and Neymar in the side they are surely capable of causing great damage to other teams but Neymar’s injury has dealt a major blow to their Champions League hopes.
The Italian goalkeeper himself came close a number of times but has faltered every time in the final hurdle. Buffon said, “Every year, I always thought it could be the right year. But it is now 24 years since I am trying to win the Champions League,
“But it’s very hard to do so. You have to be a bit lucky. Right now for us, it’s a special time because Ney got injured.
“For us, Ney is a very important player because he did unbelievable stuff for the team during the last three months.
“For us, it’s dangerous to not have him.”
