Liverpool midfielder Giorginio Wijnaldum has come in the defence of Mohamed Salah claiming the Egyptian can cope up with the mounting pressure.

Following Salah’s influential 44 goal season the attacker was expected to spearhead the attacking contingent but his struggle has become quite evident. The former AS Roma winger has found the net only three times this campaign although he had scored a mere four goals at this time last season but things were pretty different then.

Liverpool are tipped to be one of the favourites to lift the Premier League title this time but it seems Salah’s goals have dried up. But if The Reds are to fight for the trophy the 26 year needs to start scoring.

Wijnaldum said, I said ‘Mo, it’s not only one year’ and he said ‘You’re right!’

We were joking but if someone can deal with pressure, it is Mo

“Last season he had pressure when people were saying he had to be the top scorer of the league.

“We told him he couldn’t let anyone catch him. When he was on 18 goals, he said ‘In my head, I can get 32’.

“Mo is not someone that is scared of pressure. He embraces the pressure. He knows that he can do it.”
