Gazzetta dello Sport reports Liverpool full back Glen Johnson will join Roma when his contract runs out at the end of the season.
Johnson is to be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement, before signing a free transfer next summer.
Fellow Serie A teams Fiorentina and Juventus have also been linked with Johnson, but Roma look to have beaten them to their man.
Talks with Liverpool over a new contract had previously collapsed.
If Johnson was to move to the Stadio Olimpico, he would join fellow England veteran Ashley Cole.
