Declan Rice, a midfielder for West Ham United, is a player who Arsenal is certainly interested in acquiring during the summer transfer window. According to a recent rumour, Arsenal may even shatter their own transfer record to acquire him.
Nicolas Pepe, an Ivory Coast winger, was acquired by Arsenal for a record-breaking £72 million in August 2019. He impressed with Lille in Ligue 1 and left Lille for north London with great hopes.
The cost of Rice has received a lot of attention recently. Before he reached the last 18 months of his contract with West Ham, they were holding out for £150 million.
However, as his current contract approaches its expiration date in June 2024, West Ham’s negotiation stance increasingly deteriorates. At the conclusion of the season, they could now have to settle for about £70 million for their top player. If they can sign a player worth more than £100 million for this price, Arsenal will be thrilled.
