Real Madrid made about €2.3 billion in transactions that helped to define contemporary football.
Real Madrid, one of the greatest football teams in history, has never been afraid to spend a lot of money on players.
They earned the moniker “Los Galacticos” at the start of the new millennium by signing at least one major superstar during each summer transfer window from 2000 to 2006.
Real Madrid continued to make significant purchases once that era came to an end, although being somewhat more frugal between 2015 and 2019.
After spending a fortune on Eden Hazard, they resumed their savings efforts in order to sign both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Unfortunately, they missed out on both since Mbappe signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and Haaland joined Manchester City.
With money to burn, Madrid then resorted to Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in 2022 before adding Jude Bellingham, another superstar, to their midfield in June 2023.
