Speculation reignites de Gea could move away from Old Trafford.

David de Gea is set to reject a new Manchester United deal and leave on a free transfer next summer, according to reports.

Juventus have opened talks with Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in the hope of signing him on a free transfer next summer. The Bianconeri pulled off something similar when luring former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey to Turin on a free transfer and are planning to do the same with the Reds stopper.

The future of the Spanish international remains up in the air and there is a growing feeling that his time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end as the clock ticks on his contract. The Red Devils have been in contract talks with De Gea’s representatives for months, but are yet to come to an agreement.

The Spaniard has not been at his best, resulting in him being dropped to the bench by the Spanish national side on Thursday night, but United still view him as one of the best and are keen to secure his future. It has been claimed that United are willing to offer De Gea as much as ÂŁ350,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford. which would make him the biggest earning goalkeeper in world football, but he could still turn it down.

The Sun claim the 28-year-old has told friends he is preparing to snub the bid, as failure to agree new terms before January could see the former Atletico Madrid man sign a pre-contract deal with any other club. That is where where Juventus would step in.

The Italian giants are monitoring De Gea’s status at Old Trafford, and could convince the Spain No. 1 leave on a free at the end of the season if United can’t get him to commit by January, per Daily Express. The Old Lady have also been heavily linked with moves for fellow Red Devil’s stars Nemanja Matic and Eric Bailly, but De Gea looks to be their number one priority as they sense they can land him on a free transfer.
