Pep Guardiola says he is unsure about Kevin De Bruyne playing against Liverpool.

The Citizens are set to take on the league leaders in their next match in the Premier League.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that he is not sure whether star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne can take the field against Liverpool or not. The Citizens are set to take on the league leaders in their next match in the Premier League with a gap of 10 points between the two sides, as the Citizens stand in the third spot on the league table after Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking about the injury condition of his Belgian ace, which has made him already miss a chunk of the season, the Catalan gaffer said, “I don’t know how Kevin De Bruyne is. I know it’s not serious, but I don’t know if he can play on Thursday.”

Guardiola also said that if they can’t win against Liverpool, the title race would be all but over. However, he has also insisted that he expects Liverpool to drop points as well. He said, “Of course, I think they’ll drop points but not too many.”

The Citizens have been ravaged by injuries and suspension issues throughout the current season, leading them to use players in unfamiliar positions as he had to use Oleksandr Zinchenko as the left back in the match against Southampton. However, the manager was full of praise about the Ukranian’s performance as he said, “Zinchenko was the best player on the pitch today. Do you know why? Because after the mistake he didn’t hide. I said to the guys at half-time, ‘Learn from Zinchenko’. Everybody can make mistakes, everybody. But look at him for the reaction.”
