Gundogan staying put at Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan has silenced speculation of his departure by announcing he will sign a new contract.

The holding midfielder has been a ÂŁ20 million target for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, who are both looking to ease defensive troubles.

However, the Germany international revealed he would be staying put at Dortmund, who have recently climbed out of the Bundesliga relegation zone with three wins.

BUT a major factor in Gundogan putting pen-to-paper on a new deal is the recent news that Marco Reus has also committed his future to the club.

When speaking to German newspaper Bild, he said: “Marco’s signature has made us all euphoric.”

The 24-year old has scored two goals in 16 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
