Chelsea boss tells striker to start delivering
Guus Hiddink has demanded more from striker Loic Remy.
The Frenchman is behind Diego Costa in the pecking order at Chelsea, and speaking earlier this week, the interim-manager admitted that he needs to see more from the striker if he wants to become a regular at Stamford Bridge.
Remy has been strongly linked with a move away from Chelsea this month, with loan-moves to Premier League clubs suggested ahead of the summer’s European Championships.
However, Hiddink is reluctant to let the striker leave without a replacement coming in, and speaking about the 29-year-old earlier this week, the Dutchman stated he needs to see more from the back-up striker.
Hiddink Wants More from Remy
“With the multitude of games coming up I hope Loic Remy will deliver if he is needed,” Hiddink told the club website.
“I hope he [Remy] and Diego Costa will stay fit and I hope Remy can make his next step and get even more fit.
“I haven’t seen that much of him because he has repeatedly got injured. I have seen him in training the last few days but before that it was yes, no, yes, no, so I am curious.”
