Chelsea boss told to offload Loic Remy before signing striker

Chelsea have told Guus Hiddink he must offload Loic Remy before he signs another striker.

The Blues currently have three striker options at their disposal, with Diego Costa, Remy and Radamel Falcao, and despite the latter being injured for roughly two months, Hiddink has still be told he must lose a striker before bringing one in.

Hiddink admitted in the week that the club are short of options up front, hinting that he wants to add a striker to the squad this window, but according to reports, he has been told by officials at Stamford Bridge that he must sell before he buys.

One-In/One-Out

With Costa firmly first-choice and Falcao still injured, it’s likely that the striker leaving will be Remy, who could be set for a short-term loan spell away from the club.

The likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Swansea City have all been linked with the Frenchman and all could make loan offers if Chelsea make him available.

As for the Blues, they’ve been linked with the likes of Alex Teixeira, Saido Berahino and Alexandre Pato, but Hiddink now knows he must offload Remy before signing one of those.
