Brazilian has held talks with Chelsea and Liverpool
Manchester United are not prepared to drop their interest in Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato, despite the Brazilian having formal talks with Premier League rivals.
The 26-year-old has been in transfer negotiations with both Chelsea and Liverpool according to reports, and despite the ongoing talks over a potential ÂŁ11.8million move, officials at Old Trafford are not ready to give up their interest.
United are in desperate need of goals and with Anthony Martial being deployed as a winger and Wayne Rooney struggling to find his best form, Louis van Gaal wants to sign a striker this month.
Several names have been linked with a move to United, but Pato is being labelled as the realistic target as he eyes a move back to European football after a spell back in his homeland.
Pato emerged on the scene at AC Milan, but due to serious knee injuries his development stalled and he chose to return to Brazil to rebuild once again.
Now ready to leave, he’s sparked interest from the Premier League and he’s even confirmed he’d like to play in England one day.
