United star could miss big game
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a doubt for the Manchester derby after injury his knee on international duty.
Mkhitaryan was involved in an off-the-ball incident that lead to him injuring his knee, and was taken off as a result.
Mourinho is now sweating on his fitness and he waits for his squad to return from the international squad so that he can prepare them for the big game of September 10th.
He has been described as a ‘fantastic talent’ by Mourinho.
Mourinho, who has allowed striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic extra-time off, voiced concerns about the international break earlier this week.
“We keep eight outfield players and Sam Johnstone as the goalkeeper,” Mourinho told MUTV.
“We are going to lose the others and we don’t know the way they train, the way they recover, the life they are going to have with their national teams.”
Meanwhile, Manchester City are set to respond to an FA charge given to star striker Sergio Aguero, who appeared to elbow West Ham’s Winston Reid in their 3-1 home win against the Hammers on Sunday.
If the appeal is turned down and a ban is given, Aguero will also miss the derby.
