Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has sent a message to manager Arsene Wenger by claiming that he doesn’t need to sign a striker in the January transfer window, as he is the man who can be Olivier Giroud’s partner.

The Dane got a shock start in last night’s 2-0 victory against Hull City and after just two minutes of playing, he managed to give the hosts a lead after heading home Carl Jenkinson’s superb cross.

A second-half strike from Mesut Ozil wrapped up the three points and left Arsenal top of the table by four points, and after the game, Bendtner promised to make every chance he has count.

‘It was a fantastic feeling to score, I think my celebration for the goal was a show of that,’ he said.

‘It has been difficult for the players who have not been in the team because we have had such good form and the players who have played have been magnificent.’

‘With the way people play now, it looks like whoever comes in takes it in his stride and goes with it, that showed again because there were a couple of changes and everybody played well,’ he added.
