Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has admitted that he has no idea if he will be playing at Stamford Bridge next season, despite wanting to remain their for at least three more years.

The 35-year-old knows that his future at Chelsea is in doubt after he was technically released on a free due to his contract expiring, but despite talks expected to be held in the near-future between the player and the club, Lampard knows that his time in blue may be over.

The midfielder is currently with England preparing for the World Cup in Brazil, and in a recent interview, he has admitted that his future is unknown and despite his want to stay on at Chelsea, he may not get the choice.

So far Lampard has been linked with his Uncle’s side Queens Park Rangers after their promotion, but has also been linked with a switch to America, but he has no idea where he will be next season.

“I don’t know if I’ll be at Chelsea next season,” the former West Ham favourite told The Sun.

“I’d like to carry on for two or three more years but it would be good to end on a high. So, if that means it all ends tomorrow, I wouldn’t have any regrets.

“You know your shelf-life, so I started to mentally prepare when I hit 30. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so there’s a part of me that’s looking forward to the future.”
