Jordon Ibe is to sign a new contract with Liverpool

Jordon Ibe is to sign a new long-term deal at Liverpool before the end of the week, according to the Daily Express. 

The 19-year-old has been in negotiations with Brendan Rodgers for several weeks now, and is ready to put pen-to-paper on a lucrative five-year-deal at Anfield, after impressing for the Reds’ during the second half of the season.

Ibe began the campaign at Championship side Derby County, but was recalled from the Rams in January, following a fine set of performances whilst at Pride Park, where he made 24 appearances.

And the winger has continued his fine form, becoming one of Liverpool’s key players in the second-half of the Premier League season, as Brendan Rodgers looks to build the core of his side around home-grown young players in the coming years

OTHER KEY PLAYERS HAVE ALSO SIGNED NEW DEALS

Ibe will join several of his team-mates in committing his long-term future to Liverpool.

Jordan Henderson, who has been tipped to take the captaincy full-time when Steven Gerrard departs to LA Galaxy, recently penned a deal worth £100,000-a week deal which will keep him at Anfield until 2020.

Henderson’s deal was swiftly followed by new and improved contracts for both Daniel Sturridge and Phillipe Coutinho.
