Zlatan Ibrahimovic has arrived in Manchester with a bang. The journeyman striker is settling into life at the Theatre of Dreams, however has dropped a hint on where his next club could be.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has transformed himself into an icon under Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. The big Sweed has netted 17 goals in 26 matches. It was this kind of form that has led to the Red Devils triggering a clause to keep him at Old Trafford a further 12 months.
Before his move away from Paris Saint-Germain the enigmatic striker was linked to Major League Soccer (MLS). Comments just made by Ibrahimovic are sure to reignite rumours of where an almost 37 year old Zlatan could play.
When asked about a potential move to America in the twilight of his illustrious career he responded,
“It’s a huge option for me. For the football and everything else. I can see myself conquering the US as I have with Europe.”
Continuing to add;
“Lots of people stay in one place throughout their career, but I’ve traveled around like Napoleon, and conquered every new country where I’ve set foot.”
“So, perhaps I should do what Napoleon didn’t and cross the Atlantic and conquer the States as well.”
If Ibrahimovic brings his charismatic enthusiasm and cheekiness to America we could be seeing him in the White House come 2020. #ZlatanForPresident.
All jokes aside, Ibrahimovic is one goal away from levelling Messi as the most prolific scorer in Europe’s top 5 leagues this year. Not bad for a 35 year old. United play Middlesbrough at home on the 31st of December 3pm (UK time).
