The striker was handed the booking at the weekend and will now miss the next game against Arsenal

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed he is sorry for picking up the booking that will see him miss his side’s game against Arsenal a week on Saturday.

The striker has picked up five yellow cards now this season, meaning that he will be absent for Man United’s next game. It just so happens that the Red Devil’s next game is against title-chasing Arsenal.

The 35-year old said: “I just have to accept it. I’ve got to be professional.

“I’m sorry I am suspended for the next game. I wish I wasn’t as it’s a game I really wanted to play in.”

Ended his goal drought

He picked up the yellow card for a foul in his club’s game against Swansea at the weekend and it will be a big blow to the Old Trafford side that he now has to miss out the next game.

The forward bagged two goals at the weekend and the goals will no doubt have given him confidence that he could bag more against the Gunners.

However, he won’t get the chance to now that he is suspended – something which Arsenal will no doubt be thankful about. However, it does mean that another striker can be handed the chance to impress in Ibra’s absence against Arsene Wenger’s side.
