Tom Ince began his career at Liverpool, having seen his dad play two seasons at the club during the late 1990s, but was sold to Blackpool in 2011.

The young forward has been linked with a number of Premier League teams this season since performing well under his father at Blackpool, but decided to help Tony Pulis’ Palace steer clear of relegation back to the Championship.

According to the Mirror, Ince spoke to Swansea City, Stoke City and Hull City about a potential January switch, only to choose Palace, ahead of Liverpool, Paul Ince has revealed.

“Liverpool were in but I don’t think Thomas is ready to go to Liverpool yet.

“Brendan [Rodgers] has done very well there and he does play the kids but for his progression as a footballer it needed to be a Stoke, a Swansea, a Palace or a Hull at this point.

“Maybe in two or three years’ time that might be a move for him.”

Paul Ince was sacked by Blackpool for a number of controversial incidents, including a five match ban and a ÂŁ4000 fine for his violent conduct aimed towards a match official in September.
