According to Sports Direct News, the San Siro club, who sit 5th in Serie A are interested in signing Spurs winger, Erik Lamela during the summer transfer period.

Inter’s new owner Erick Thohir is keen to bring in the Argnetine, who moved to White Hart Lane at the start of the season and has been somewhat disappointing in an attempt to live up to his pirice tag.

Lamela was brought to the Premier League by former manager Andre Villas Boas for a Spurs record fee of ÂŁ30m and the 21 year old has managed just 1 goal in his 17 appearances. Since the start of the year, Lamela has been sidelined due to a back problem so the has been very much an outcast from the first team.

A return to Italy could tempt the youngster but the likelihood of the deal happening would very much depend on the fee Inter are willing to pay. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would also be keen to regain at least ÂŁ20m of what he paid for the winger just 6 months ago, something the Milan side will have to think about.

Tottenham boos, Tim Sherwood, has managed to get Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor back into scoring form and could potentially do the same with Lamela and another summer signing, Roberto Soldado. But he will have to work quick as Tottenham continue to push for a Champions League spot, rivalling Liverpool and Everton for the spot.
