Having yet to be offered any deal at Liverpool as yet, Johnson will be free to seek employment elsewhere, and Inter Milan are ready to swoop the Defender up.
Borini however, has yet to nail down a first team spot despite the poor form of Mario Balotelli.
And according to reports in Italy, Inter are monitoring Johnson and are keen to sign him in January.
Borini it is thought may be harder to convince, even though he was flattered by the interest the Serie A giants showed in the summer.
He said last month: “That admiration makes us happy and proud.
“Of course I was aware of it and the interest in the player, but it’s pleasing that Ausilio is stating that publicly, I knew that Inter and other clubs were interested this summer.”
