Arsenal star crocked in training

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will miss the first three months of the season after picking up a serious injury in training.

According to reports, the midfielder was in a collision with centre-back Gabriel Paulista, and the result from the tackle was a hairline fracture to his ankle.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said before the Community Shield that the England international would only be out for around a week, but latest reports have him sidelined for three months at least.

However, Arsenal won’t know the official diagnosis until tomorrow, after they get results back from the scans.

Concerns for Wilshere

Another injury to Wilshere could see his long-term future at the Emirates Stadium in jeopardy with serious competition for places in North London especially in the midfield.

Wilshere only just returned from a serious ankle injury at the end of last season so this will be the last thing both himself and the club will want.
