James McArthur is set to sign for Crystal Palace from Wigan Athletic, in a club record £7 million fee, reports the Guardian.
The transfer of McArthur see’s Palace surpass their former record fee, which was that of Dwight Gayle’s £5 million fee from Peterborough last summer.
McArthur, aged 26 was been given permission from Scotland to complete the deal, with a fee and personal terms agreed, as McArthur heads for a medical at the Selhurst Park outfit.
Wigan had previously agreed a deal with Leicester City, though newly promoted City decided to sign Argentine veteran midfielder Esteban Cambiasso on a 12 month deal at the King Power Stadium.
McArthur will probably be one of two signings today, with Tottenham fullback Zeki Fryers set to complete a permanent move to the Eagles.
