According to the Daily Express, Inter Milan are leading to race to sign Hernandez, and United could let him leave on loan with a permanent fee of £10m agreed in principle.

It’s unlikely that Hernandez will feature in Louis Van Gaal’s plans next season, as United boast the likes of Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie up front.

Hernandez was unhappy with his playing time last season under Moyes, and the report claims he’s finally resolved to leaving Old Trafford in an effort to get his career back on track.

He was linked with a move to Southampton as part of an exchange for Saints defender Luke Shaw. But that’s now unlikely to happen, with United keen on a cash deal only.

Inter Milan have already agreed the transfer of one Manchester United player. Vidic will join the Italian giants for next season’s campaign.

And they reportedly hope that Hernandez will join him at the San Siro, with a deal in the pipeline. Inter hope the transfer can be agreed before the World Cup, where Hernandez is set to lead the line for Mexico.

Hernandez, 26, is currently his country’s joint-third all-time leading goalscorer with 35 in 61 appearances for Mexico. He is 11 behind leading scorer Jared Borgetti.
