Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has hit back at team-mate Robin Van Persie after the Dutchman criticised the team after their poor performance against Olympiacos in the Champions League.

After they fell to a 2-0 defeat in Greece, Van Persie was left frustrated with the team and even said that he feels his team-mates just get in his way and force him to play out of position.

The 30-year-old, who is reportedly unhappy with life at Old Trafford under David Moyes, then branded the team as ‘lousy’, and despite backing the manager, Van Persie’s team-mate, Javier Hernandez, has hit back at his striking partner by sending a subtle message on his Instagram account.

Accompanied with a picture of himself and Patrice Evra, Hernandez wrote: ‘Without your teammates you can’t be somebody in football, always be thankful…’

The comments on the thread are from United fans who clearly seem to think this comment is about Van Persie.
