Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has revealed it would have to be a ‘phenomenal’ offer for the club to lose Andre Schurrle.

The German international has been strongly linked with a return to his homeland, with Wolfsburg reportedly keen, but in his press conference, Mourinho confirmed that it’s unlikely the World Cup winner will leave this month.

Schurrle was expected to leave the club as Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina comes in, but it looks like clubs will have to make big-money offers if they want to lure the midfielder away from Stamford Bridge.

‘The principle is that we would like him to stay,’ said Mourinho.

‘The question is not whether he is allowed to go or not. The question is not whether we get a good offer.

‘The question is whether we have a phenomenal offer and for the player to be super-keen to accept a new challenge in his career, because we don’t want to sell our players.’

Schurrle has struggled for first-team football this season due to Mourinho picking Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian as his attacking trio behind Diego Costa.
