Ray Wilkins states Chelsea boss will know what to do
Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins believes Jose Mourinho will already know who he has to axe in January in order to save the club’s season.
The Blues are sitting 14th in the Premier League table after 15-games, winning just four of their matches in their title-defence, leaving them 14 points off Manchester United who currently sit in fourth.
After the disastrous start, a lot of talk has been about the January transfer window and what Chelsea need to do in order to rescue their season, and according to Wilkins, Mourinho will already know who to ship out of the club.
Several Chelsea stars have come under questioning, with a few being linked with moves away, including Diego Costa and Oscar, but according to the club legend, Mourinho will already know who he wants out the door.
Mourinho knows who to axe
“You sensed you had a chance, you really did,” Wilkins told the Mirror. “I’ve watched them a lot and I thought we would have a chance against them. They weren’t the same side. They weren’t hunting the ball down.
“He keeps faith in what he feels is his best eleven. Hazard will always play. If John Terry is fit, he’ll always play. I always feel when John Terry doesn’t play they almost look rudderless and they don’t look as if they’ve got a leader.
“In the dressing room, sometimes they need to have a pop at each other and they’re not doing it, the modern day footballer.
“Whichever job Mourinho has taken, he’s taken it thinking he’ll get his own way. Maybe the purse strings have been tucked in a little bit.
“The way Mourinho is talking you can see he has identified the players he feels aren’t up to scratch and he’ll be looking to move them on.”
