Top-four is the aim for Mourinho’s men
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has set his side the task of finishing in the top-four this season after already ruling out a title-challenge.
The Blues picked up just their fourth win of the season yesterday after beating Norwich City at Stamford Bridge, but it still leaves them 15th in the table and miles adrift from Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.
Speaking after the 1-0 win against the Canaries, Mourinho admitted that retaining the title is now impossible, but finishing in the top-four is achievable and is their main aim.
Top-Four the Target
He said: “Top spot is impossible, maybe Tom Cruise could do it, but the gap is huge, but we take it game after game. Fourth is not impossible.”
A second-half strike from Diego Costa gave Chelsea all three points yesterday afternoon.
