Chelsea boss ready to wield the axe

Chelsea could be in for mass changes when they face FC Porto on Tuesday evening in the Champions League, with Jose Mourinho less than impressed with his players.

The Blues dropped more points in the Premier League on Saturday as they were held by struggling Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Despite coming from two-goals down to draw 2-2, Mourinho was still left fuming with the team’s performance and he’s now ready to make drastic changes for the Porto game.

Although he hasn’t pointed his finger at certain individuals, it’s believed Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas and even Eden Hazard could be axed.

When speaking about the 2-2 draw on Saturday, Mourinho admitted he wanted to make subs at half-time, but didn’t know who to take off as at least six could have been hauled off.

Changes Needed

“I did not know which decisions to make,” said the Chelsea boss.

“There were six players I could have taken off.

“I wanted to make six substitutions. That is how bad we were.

“I sat there trying to work out what was best for the team and had so many doubts, I decided to see what happened in the second half.”
