Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata is set to have a medical at Manchester United today ahead of a £37.5million move to Old Trafford.
A bid for the Spaniard was accepted by The Blues yesterday and Mata then made his way to Carrington training ground by helicopter in order to meet with United’s representitives.
It is believed that a four-and-a-half year deal has been put on the table for the 25-year-old by last year’s Premier League champions, and a medical is set to be completed later today.
This will end Mata’s impressive career at Stamford Bridge, which saw him win Player of the Year twice, but since Jose Mourinho’s return, it was clear that the Spaniard was not favoured as he struggled to get first-team football and hasn’t featured for them since New Years Day.
