Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has been hot-talk in recent weeks with a lot of speculation surrounding his future and more rumours started last night after his father, who is also his agent, was spotted at the Emirates Stadium in the director’s box watching Arsenal take on Fenerbache.
Despite Jose Mourinho reiterating his desire to keep Mata at Stamford Bridge, the Portuguese manager hasn’t really given the Spaniard a lot of game-time so far this season and didn’t include him against Manchester United on Monday night.
Mata was a target of Arsene Wenger during his Valencia days, but the midfield-man eventually chose to join Chelsea rather than Arsenal.
The Gunners beat Fenerbache 2-0 on the night thanks to a brace from Aaron Ramsey and the victory was enough to secure Champions League football for Wenger’s men, which could persuade Mata to finally depart Chelsea and join Arsenal.
