Mata joined the Red Devils in a deal worth £37.5 million in the January transfer window although has taken time to settle.

Oscar meanwhile has thrived since Mata’s departure and has netted eight league goals for the Blues this campaign with only Eden Hazard scoring more.

And Oscar has admitted he has been sharper in front of goal this season.

“I have been trying to score more and it has helped that Mata has gone,” he told Sky Sports.

“I’m just trying to develop my game and I want to continue improving.

“For me it doesn’t matter if I don’t score as long as we win.”

Oscar also admits that while Eden Hazard will be a big miss, Chelsea have a strong enough squad to cope in his absence.

He added: “We will miss Eden [Hazard] but we have proved we have a strong enough squad.

“We hope he recovers soon and that we play well against Swansea.”
