Jurgen Klopp confirms Andy Robertson ready to start for Liverpool against Sheffield United

Jurgen Klopp provided Liverpool a much-needed boost ahead of their match against Sheffield United, disclosing that Andy Robertson would start at Anfield.

The 30-year-old left-back, who sustained an ankle injury while on international duty with Scotland, missed Liverpool’s previous match against Brighton.

However, Klopp stated in his pre-match news conference on Wednesday that Robertson is completely fit and ready to play on Thursday night.

“Yeah, and very important, by the way,” when asked if Andy Roberton is fit to start against Sheffield.

Robertson’s return comes at an important time for Liverpool, as they seek to maintain their Premier League winning streak.

With both Arsenal and Manchester City winning their midweek games, the pressure is on Liverpool to pick up another three points to regain the top spot. Liverpool will undoubtedly start as favorites against the league’s bottom-placed club.

The Reds have suffered huge injury losses this season, making Robertson’s return even more crucial.

Given the difficulties, Klopp has led the team well, putting them in contention for the title as the season nears its conclusion.

In addition to Robertson, Klopp gave updates on other injured players. Curtis Jones is poised to return after a lengthy absence, but he may not be ready to play the whole 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, Wataru Endo is doubtful for the clash against Sheffield United due to a knock sustained last weekend.

With Robertson slotting back into his customary role on the left-hand side, Klopp faces some decisions regarding the defensive setup.

However, the return of key players injects much-needed depth and quality into Liverpool’s squad as they aim to secure another crucial victory in their pursuit of Premier League glory.
