Shinji Kagawa’s agent claims the midfielder is happy at Manchester United and isn’t looking to move. This announcement follows reports that Napoli were becoming interested in making a bid for the Japanese playmaker.

It hasn’t been an easy season for Kagawa at Old Trafford, as he has been left out of the club’s plans with David Moyes in charge. However, he clearly feels more optimistic for next season with a new manager, set to be Louis van Gaal, taking over.

The player’s agent, Thomas Kroth, said: “Has Benitez made contact with Kagawa? These are just rumours. He is not unhappy at Man United, so there’s no reason to talk about him departing to another club.”

The 25-year old joined United back in 2012 from Borussia Dortmund and he hasn’t had the desired impact since the move. With the big money arrival of Juan Mata back in January, it appeared his days as a Red Devil may have been over.

But Kagawa now appears determined to make it work and is happy to stick around and see how his side fare next season, as they look to return to the Champions League.
