Wolfsburg have admitted that their Belgian international, Kevin Du Bruyne could depart the club should they fail to gain Champions League football.
Du Bruyne has helped the German side to second in the Bundesliga, having impressed so far this season, netting 11 times for the Wolves.
His performances for Wolfsburg has seen him become a £30 million target for Premier League sides Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Both sides are keen to lure Du Bruyne back to English shores, with the 23-year-old’s former club, Chelsea, leading the way for the player, who departed Stamford Bridge for Wolfsburg in the January of 2013.
And thev club’s sporting director, Klaus Allofs, has stated that the player may depart should Wolfsburg fail to gain Champions League qualification.
He told Kicker: “We must be careful, Kevin could leave if there is no qualification for the next Champions League.
“All the interested clubs are watching, but one thing is certain. If they want Kevin they will have to deep dig in their pockets to find the necessary funds. Many clubs therefore have no chance of buying him.”
