Keylor Navas: Goalkeeper will not leave Real Madrid in the summer

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been handed a bitter blow to their transfer plans, with Keylor Navas’ father claiming the goalkeeper will not leave Real Madrid in the summer.

The Costa Rican earned a move to Madrid from fellow Spanish outfit Levante, following a string of fine performances in the World Cup Finals in Brazil last summer.

The 28-year-old has found games hard to come by at the Bernabeu, with Carlo Ancelotti sticking with club stalwart Iker Casillas, which has prompted rumours of a departure for Navas.

And such rumours have alerted Liverpool and Arsenal, who are both keen to strengthen in the goalkeeping department, with Wojciech Szczesny and Simon Mignolet somewhat struggling for their respective sides this season.

But any transfer plans involving Navas have been put to bed by his father!

“Keylor told me he is not leaving Real Madrid. He is very happy,” Navas’ father told La Nacion.

“He is a fighter who wants to work hard and triumph at the club.

“He knows that he has to fight for a place. It’s a process that he’s accepting very well.

“In the press, some people are claiming that he is not good enough, but he is very strong.”
