Veteran will spend one more year at Anfield

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure is expected to remain at Anfield for one more year.

The centre-back has been linked with a move away from the club this Summer and was expected to leave on a free once his current deal expires in June.

However, according to reports, Liverpool are willing to exercise their clause which gives him a further 12-months at the club.

Toure Future Plans

Toure was set to be part of the mass exodus at Liverpool this Summer, with nine first-team players expected to leave the club, but it now looks like he will stay for a further year.

The Ivorian was thinking of a move to the MLS to end his career in order to play regular games, something he can’t at Anfield, but the 34-year-old may remain in England.

Contract Offer Expected

The former-Arsenal and Manchester City defender has made just 26 appearances for Brendan Rodgers this season, and is seen as fourth choice centre-back behind Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren.

After collapsing from second last year to outside top-four this year, drastic changes are expected at Anfield at the end of the season.

Drastic Summer Changes

As previously mentioned, The Reds may sell up to nine players over the Summer in order to rebuild their squad.
