Chelsea will be active this Summer

According to Jose Mourinho, Chelsea will do a ‘little bit’ of transfer business over the Summer as they look to strengthen their title-winning team.

The Blues have already announced the signing of Nathan from Atletico Paranaense for an undisclosed fee, but he is expected to be one of few signings this Summer.

Title Competition

Chelsea strolled to the Premier League title this season, but Mourinho is wary that teams around him will add new faces to their squad in order to push his side next season, and that’s why he wants to add a few new names.

Speaking in his weekly press conference, Mourinho was in a jokey mood as he firstly responded by saying he would be busy in the Summer, busy on the beach and in the sea, but after the fun and games, he then revealed what he intends to do during the pre-season.

Transfer Plans Revealed

Mourinho stated: “I expect to be busy. (I will be) a little busy, but I like my squad very much. We have a young squad, and space to improve.

“We know what we want and, I repeat, it’s not much”

Quieter Summer

Chelsea had a rather busy Summer last year with players coming and going from Stamford Bridge, but Mourinho has insisted that it will be a lot quieter this time around.

He added “I am in a different place than before because last season I was very keen for my club to sell some players, in this moment I’m very happy to keep my players.

“The plan last year was to sell some to buy some, and the plan this season is to keep my squad.”

Potential Targets

A few names on The Blues’ radar are; Antoine Grizemann, Koke, Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane.
