The Newcastle goalkeeper suffered an injury in Holland’s game against Kazakhstan

Tim Krul has been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury while on international duty.

The Newcastle keeper landed badly in his national side’s game against Kazakhstan and he he had to limp off the pitch. It has now been revealed that he could be out for up to eight months with this injury, meaning he would miss the rest of the season.

Newcastle aren’t believed to be very happy with the news, with the Premier League side frustrated that the game was played on an artificial pitch in very icy conditions and weather.

Elliot to play in goal

Even worse is that Karl Darlow is also out injured for the Toon and it means they will have to put Rob Elliot in goal for the time being and they have also recalled 18-year old keeper Freddie Woodman who was on loan at Crawley.
