Lampard and Ferdinand in QPR talks

QPR sealed their promotion to the Premier League on Saturday following a 1-0 win over Derby and manager Harry Redknapp will be keen to start bolstering his squad straight away.

He reportedly wants to add six new faces to the side but knows that experience is key, so he has turned to ageing players Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.

Redknapp worked with the pair during his time at West Ham and following the end of the campaign, are out of contract with their respective clubs and so can be transferred for free.

Lampard will susposedly be offered a one year contract with a possible extension of another 12 months, meanwhile Ferdinand could get a deal that only lasts until January.

The English pair are not expected to give their verdict on the move with Lampard pre-occupied with the World Cup and many other potential clubs yet to make a move.

Lampard will be considering a move following last season’s less than impressive campaign which ended trophlyess and with just six goals and three assists in the league, Lampard is beginning to take more of a back-seat role at Stamford Bridge.

Ferdinand is likely to leave due to the transformation set to made by Louis van Gaal and the veteran will be tempted either by a move to QPR or a number of MLS clubs said to be interested.
